Education
I am currently in Graduate School at SUNY: Old Westbury in Secondary English Education. I begin student teaching in January, and will be a certified High School English teacher at this time next year. I received my Bachelor's degree from SUNY: Empire State College in English: Writing and Literature.
Experience
I have worked at the Writing Center at SUNY Old Westbury for two semesters. There I worked with college students to help them through the writing process with all of their college writing assignments. Some of areas I work on with them are with brainstorming, assignment understanding, revisions, paragraph development, thesis/conclusion creation and development, etc... I have also worked two summers with the RBI Writing Program in which I work with high school students who are writing their Personal Statements for their college applications. In this program I help the students through each step of the writing process from brainstorming to submission.

Hobbies
My two main passions are Music and Ice Hockey. I play many instruments but am most proficient at guitar and harmonica. I am also a singer/songwriter and have won poetry awards for my songs. I am also a diehard fan of the New York Islanders which has taught me much in the way of patience and persistence. I also began my college career as a screenwriting major and thus I have a great interest in movies of all genres and time periods.
